Chair Parts Sanding
We’re looking for detail-oriented individuals to join our Chair Sanding team. Both full-time and part-time positions are available. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in creating smooth, quality finishes. You’ll help prep chair parts for finishing by sanding and inspecting each piece to meet industry standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Reliable, hardworking, and attentive to detail
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks and standing for long periods
- Prior woodwork or sanding experience is a plus, but not required
- Willing to learn and take feedback
Case Sanding
We’re looking for detail-oriented individuals to join our Case Parts Sanding team. Both full-time and part-time positions are available. Finishing Department
Join our Finishing Department, where the final details bring our handcrafted furniture to life. We’re looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals to apply stains, sealers, and finishes to our product, ensuring each piece meets our high-quality standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Apply stains and finishes accurately
- Inspect each piece for color consistency and finish quality
- Perform touch-ups and corrections when needed
- Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Warehouse
We’re looking for hands-on, detail-focused individuals to join our Warehouse Team where the final stages of our handcrafted furniture come together. This role involves final assembly, light sanding, touch-ups, hardware installation, and product prep for shipment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Good eye for detail and quality
- Comfortable using hand tools and performing light assembly work
- Ability to lift and move furniture pieces (30–75 lbs.)
- Team player with a strong work ethic
Dimension Mill
Join our team in the Dimension Mill, where raw lumber is processed into high-quality parts for handcrafted furniture. We’re looking for reliable individuals to assist with sorting, stacking, and organizing cut lumber to keep production moving smoothly and efficiently.
What We’re Looking For:
- Sort cut wood parts by size, species, and quality
- Stack lumber neatly and safely in designated areas
- Assist machine operators by clearing tables and organizing carts
- Perform visual inspections for defects or damage
Doug Metheny
Logistics – Fleet Technician | 5 Years at MAVIN
For the past five years, Doug Metheny has helped keep MAVIN moving. After starting as a local truck driver, Doug transitioned into his current role as a Fleet Technician, where he handles everything from routine maintenance to full engine rebuilds. His knowledge of the fleet, communication with drivers, and ability to troubleshoot problems make him an important resource for the Logistics team.
Flexibility is a big part of Doug’s role, and it’s a value his supervisor sees him demonstrate regularly. Truck maintenance doesn’t always fit neatly into a schedule, and Doug is willing to adjust when the job calls for it. In one instance, he worked through the weekend to swap an engine so a truck could be back on the road the following week. Whether it’s a project he enjoys or simply something that needs done, Doug is willing to tackle it and help wherever he can.
That variety is also part of what Doug enjoys about his job. He appreciates the flexibility and trust he’s given to figure things out, especially because no two days look quite the same. One day might mean working through a delicate wiring harness, while another could involve customizing a truck from an idea in his head. For someone who enjoys problem-solving and trying new things, there’s always a new challenge waiting.
Some of Doug’s favorite MAVIN experiences combine both sides of his career here. He enjoys taking a truck and making it his own through the little details that turn it into something he’s proud to drive. His time on the road also gave him the opportunity to travel to furniture stores around the country, sometimes finding himself in places he never expected to visit.
Beyond the Workplace
When he’s away from work, Doug enjoys bass fishing, home improvement projects, gaming, and spending time with his family. Home also includes four dogs, who, according to Doug, keep delivery drivers on their toes and make sure the family goes through “vacuums like they’re disposables.”
Whether he’s solving a problem in the shop, helping a driver, or taking on an unexpected challenge, Doug brings knowledge, adaptability, and a willingness to help that make a difference for the MAVIN team.
